RIO DE JANEIRO, May 6 (Bernama-dpa) -- Two members of staff were killed in a shooting at a school in western Brazil, while two others, including a student, were taken to hospital with injuries, according to the regional government, reported German Press Agency (dpa).
The government in the state of Acre said on Tuesday that a 13-year-old had confessed to the crime.
He was detained along with his legal guardian, the owner of the firearm used in the shooting.
Shots were fired during afternoon classes on Tuesday, the G1 news portal reported, citing eyewitnesses.
The students reportedly threw themselves to the ground and attempted to build barricades with chairs.
Officials said the exact circumstances and motive behind the incident are under investigation.
Classes have been cancelled at all public schools across the state for three days.
