RIYADH, May 16 (Bernama-SPA) -- The General Directorate of Public Security stressed that a fine of up to SAR20,000 (US$5,286) will be imposed on anyone found performing or attempting to perform Haj without a permit, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The restrictions also includes holders of all types of visit visas who try to enter or remain in Makkah and the holy sites within the designated geographical area, effective from Zulkaedah 1 until Zulhijjah 14, 1447 AH.
The directorate explained that the designated geographical area includes Makkah and its official and unofficial entry points, the central area, the holy sites, the Haramain High-Speed Railway station in Al-Rusayfah, security checkpoints, screening centres and temporary checkpoints.
It also noted that residents and violators attempting to infiltrate Haj will be deported to their home countries and banned from entering the Kingdom for 10 years.
The directorate urged everyone to comply with Haj regulations and instructions and to report violators by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and Eastern regions, and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom.
