Grants To SRN, KRN To Boost Appreciation Of Rukun Negara - Aaron

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 (Bernama) -- Activity grants to 189 Rukun Negara Secretariats (SRN) and 6,849 Rukun Negara Clubs (KRN) are expected to strengthen appreciation and practice of the Rukun Negara principles, especially among the younger generation.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the RM10,000 grant to each SRN and RM5,000 to each KRN would empower them as key platforms for fostering unity, patriotism, and civic responsibility.

He also said a RM5 million matching grant in Budget 2027 to revive 10 statesman memorials managed by the National Archives of Malaysia would help preserve the country's heritage.

"This step not only preserves the nation’s heritage but also serves as an important medium to educate the public on the struggles of national figures in building a peaceful, united, and sovereign Malaysia.

"This effort clearly reflects the MADANI Government's commitment to strengthening the national unity agenda through the appreciation of the Rukun Negara and the empowerment of national history as the foundation of nation-building," he said in a statement today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the activity grants yesterday during the National-Level Unity Week 2026 celebrations.

Commenting on this, Aaron said the Rukun Negara must continue to be appreciated and practised daily, rather than merely treated as an official document.

"At the same time, the nation's history must continue to be elevated and appreciated so that the present and future generations understand the roots of the country’s formation and the values that unite us as a Malaysian nation," he added.
