SUBANG JAYA, June 15 (Bernama) -- An exclusive badminton session, ‘Smash It With #FeiDin’, organised by AIA Malaysia with national professional men's doubles pair Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani was not merely a casual engagement with the media, but also aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
The session was held in conjunction with the 10th anniversary celebration of AIA Vitality and involved about 30 media practitioners, who had the opportunity to interact and play badminton with the pair, who currently serve as AIA Malaysia’s Health and Wellness Ambassadors.
Sze Fei said their status as sporting icons comes with the responsibility of raising awareness that good health begins with discipline and small habits practised consistently every day.
“The main purpose of our role as ambassadors is to encourage the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle consistently. It is not only through sports but also in our daily lives.
“For me, small changes made every day can have a significant impact in ensuring a better quality of life in the long term,” he said at the event here recently.
Meanwhile, Izzuddin said the responsibility of promoting a healthy lifestyle aligns with the corporate support they receive, which he described as crucial in sustaining the careers of professional athletes.
He said the involvement of private companies such as AIA Malaysia is highly significant, particularly for independent athletes who rely on sponsorships to continue competing at the international level.
“This support is extremely important. A healthy lifestyle is part of our lives as athletes, and through our role as AIA Malaysia ambassadors, we can encourage more Malaysians to do the same, for example through sessions like today with our media friends,” he said.
He also encouraged more private companies to emulate AIA Malaysia’s efforts in supporting professional athletes who require sponsorship to sustain their careers.
The exclusive event began with a warm-up session followed by the sharing of badminton playing tips. Media practitioners in attendance also had the opportunity to test their badminton skills alongside the doubles pair before the event concluded with a souvenir presentation, as part of AIA Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen ties with media partners.
