INDONESIA

 

1.INDONESIA SCRAPS IMPORT DUTIES ON LPG, PLASTIC MATERIALS -- ANTARA

The Indonesian government has removed import duties on LPG for the petrochemical industry, plastic raw materials, and aircraft spare parts as part of its economic stimulus package for the second half of 2026.

 

2.RI, IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON PARTNER TO BUILD 10 NEW MEDICAL CAMPUSES -- ANTARA

 Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a delegation from Imperial College London to discuss a strategic partnership for higher education development, including a plan to build 10 new medical and science universities in Indonesia.

 

LAOS

 

1.PENETRATING CHINESE MARKET VIA LAOS -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Laos and Cambodia cemented a partnership to promote cross-border agricultural commerce and expand a trade corridor to China via Vientiane. Cambodia will export durian, bananas, rice, mangoes, longan and cassava through the Laos route.

 

2.EU-FUNDED GREEN ECONOMY INITIATIVE -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Lao has launched an initiative to reduce plastic waste to promote greener economic growth. The pilot projects to be implemented in Khammuan and Savannakhet provinces will be funded by the European Union (EU).

 

MYANMAR

 

1.NAYPYIDAW TO CHAIR BAY OF BENGAL PACT -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanmar will be the chair of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) next year. The regional organisation will mark its 30th anniversary in 2027.

 

2.MILITARY FRATERNITY SAPLINGS PLANTING DRIVE -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Family members of the armed forces joined the monsoon tree planting campaign, planting 230,000 saplings to help protect the ecosystem. The event took place at Yezin Dam in Zeyathiri Township, Naypyidaw.

Authorities are racing against time to complete several major bridges spanning the Red River in Hanoi before the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings in 2027. Workers are working simultaneously on foundations, piers and superstructure components.
