Chief Minister's Roadshow, Set For July 5, To Enhance Local Council Services

MELAKA, June 25 (Bernama) -- The Chief Minister's Roadshow, set to begin on July 5, will serve as another key platform to strengthen local authorities' service delivery to the people across the state.

State deputy senior exco for Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management Datuk Zulkiflee Mohd Zin said the initiative would enable faster and more thorough resolution of public issues and grievances at the grassroots level.

As such, he called on the Melaka Historic City Council, Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ), Jasin Municipal Council, and Alor Gajah Municipal Council to give their full cooperation, support and commitment to ensure the success of every roadshow series for the benefit and well-being of the people.

"The state government is already rolling out the Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) programme progressively across all Melaka state constituencies.

“In addition, the Chief Minister's Roadshow is expected to make a significant impact in resolving public complaints and grievances.

"Of the more than 4,000 complaints received, over 2,600 have been resolved so far, with the 20th WRUR series now underway for Rim," he said after officiating the MPHTJ monthly administration assembly for June 2026 at the Anjung Gapam Recreational Park.

Also present was MPHTJ president Datuk Sapiah Haron.

The Chief Minister's Roadshow programme is being coordinated by the Chief Minister's Office and the Corporate Communications Division. 

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh will visit two state constituencies in a single day to observe ground conditions first-hand, listen directly to the issues and needs of the people, and channel assistance to those in need.
