JASIN, June 28 (Bernama) -- Pantai Siring, situated in the Serkam state constituency, will be developed as a new Melaka tourism product in phases to allow the public beach to spur the local economy.
Serkam assemblyman Datuk Zaidi Attan said the area is now in the early development phase after take over of land for the construction of a new road was completed.
"Currently the government is conducting an environmental impact assessment, along with economic and social impact studies before a comprehensive development plan is implemented.
"The plan is to make Pantai Siring a state public beach, a centre to sell sea products and a focus location for food and recreation,” he told reporters after a community event officiated by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh here today.
He also said that the Pantai Siring Festival, scheduled for next weekend, will be a platform introducing the area’s potential to the public.
