Johor Polls: BN To Let Its Work Speak, Avoid Provocation - Zambry

30/06/2026 04:16 PM

SHAH ALAM, June 30 (Bernama) -- Barisan Nasional (BN) has reminded its members to conduct a mature campaign in the Johor state election and avoid open disputes or any form of provocation.

BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the coalition's strategy is aimed at enabling its election machinery to focus fully on serving voters at the grassroots.

“BN has chosen not to engage in quarrels, as emphasised by our party president and Barisan Nasional chairman (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi), because we are now part of the Federal Government alongside other parties.

“We have issued clear instructions to all our election machinery. As always, BN will let its work speak for itself.

“We do not resort to insults or slander because we want the election to be conducted in a spirit of mutual respect,” he told reporters after launching the ‘Semikonduktor@UiTM’  initiative at the Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Engineering Complex, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), here today.

He said the party's campaign is centred on offering practical solutions to issues affecting the people.

“We cannot force anyone to vote, but we must present sound arguments and convincing reasons why the people should choose Barisan Nasional,” he said.

Zambry said the coalition's priority, together with its component parties, UMNO, MCA, MIC and the People's Progressive Party (PPP), is to ensure its strategic plans are implemented with integrity to preserve the country's political stability.

As an experienced political coalition, he said BN believes its emphasis on economic development and human capital will remain the key factor in earning the people's trust.

BN is contesting all 56 seats in the election.

Polling is on July 11, with early voting fixed for July 7.
