Johor State Election Starting Point For Resurgence Of BN Blue Wavenationwide - Ahmad Zahid

07/06/2026 08:37 PM

ISKANDAR PUTERI, June 7 (Bernama) -- The 16th Johor State Election is not merely a battleground to determine the state government, but will also serve as the starting point for the resurgence of Barisan Nasional (BN) at the national level.

BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the state election will be an important stage to send a clear signal that the BN blue wave is regaining the people's support, not only in Johor but across the entire country.

"Here in Johor, we want to prove that BN is still strong, Insya-Allah (God willing). In Johor, we want to prove that BN will continue to be the pillar of hope for all Malaysians.

"It is here that we want to prove that the people of Johor (Bangsa Johor) are wise enough to judge between stability and chaos, between work and mere words, and between a genuine struggle and the narrow interests of street-level political parties," he said in his speech at the Launching Ceremony of the Johor BN Election Machinery held at the EduCity Sports Complex Indoor Stadium, here today.

Also present were Johor BN Chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, MIC President Tan Sri Dr S A Vigneswaran, and People's Progressive Party (PPP) President Datuk Dr J Loga Bala Mohan.

Ahmad Zahid added that BN is determined to restore Johor's status as an absolute stronghold or a 'fixed deposit' for the party in the upcoming state election.

The UMNO President said that the main objective of the machinery right now is to secure a dominant victory, thereby proving that the birthplace of UMNO remains the mainstay of the nation's political stability.

“Do not let anyone intimidate the people of Johor by claiming that BN is only for a single race. We answer them clearly: Bangsa Johor is strong because of BN.

“We will make Johor a fixed deposit for BN in this country once again. We will make BN the mainstay of stability after this election,” he said.

He said that a strong mandate from the people of Johor is crucial to forming a powerful government capable of fending off all forms of experimental politics and the agendas of vengeance brought by the opposition.

"We want to instill a principle that we are strong not because our opponents are weak, but we are strong because we work for the people and all of Bangsa Johor," he said.

BN will contest all 56 Johor state assembly seats in this state election.
