21 COWS FOR 'KORBAN PERDANA' PROGRAMME ORGANISED BY FELDA GROUP

KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- A total of 21 cows were slaughtered at the ‘Korban Perdana’ programme organised by the Felda Group here today.

The sacrificial slaughter of the animals in conjunction with Aidiladha was held at the Anjung Felda compound.

Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the meat would be distributed to four asnaf institutions, the local community, and the Felda Group staff.

"I am proud of the cooperation demonstrated by the Felda community in this programme, with contributions and participation from various parties, including Felda Group subsidiary FGV Holdings Bhd.

"The atmosphere is very lively, involving around 200 Felda Group staff. Such programmes can strengthen our relationships and benefit the surrounding community," he told reporters when met at the programme.

Also present was Senior Political Secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.

Meanwhile, Shamsul Iskandar said today's programme, which involved all agencies under Felda, demonstrated a spirit of cooperation among all staff.

"The presence of Felda is to ensure that community development programmes can run smoothly in line with what the Prime Minister has emphasised regarding Malaysia MADANI.

"Today, we see programmes that aim towards building a Malaysia MADANI society in terms of well-being and mutual respect," he said.

He said such programmes should be encouraged and hoped that government-linked companies (GLCs) and government-linked investment companies (GLICs) or other agencies could emulate the teamwork spirit demonstrated by Felda.

Shamsul Iskandar also invited the public to attend the Felda Settlers Day 2024 which will be held from July 12 to 14 at MAEPS, Serdang.
