At the event, Ahmad Zahid announced an allocation of RM4.2 million for the replacement of batteries of the solar hybrid system in Punan Ba and RM62 million for the extension of rural electricity supply in the area.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said the federal government will consider the construction of a 20-kilometre main road from Bintulu to Punan Ba, as well as a RM21.6 million water treatment plant, the building of a Bailey bridge across Sungai Punan Ba, the installation of streetlights in the village, and the upgrading of the Belaga Kemas office.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that he will also discuss with the Minister of Works Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi about upgrading the Jiwa Murni road in Belaga to federal road status to provide better connectivity for the residents in the district.
