REMBAU, July 4 (Bernama) -- Electors in Sungai Bakap were told to cast their votes for Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr Joohari Ariffin for more effective representation in the Penang state assembly.
Ahead of the state by-election on Saturday, Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said it would be beneficial for the voters to elect a candidate in sync with the state government.
“This alignment will empower their representative to effectively voice and address local issues,” he told reporters after officiating at the Rembau Farmers' Organisation (PPK) annual general meeting here today.
Mohamad, who is also UMNO deputy president, urged voters to discern amidst political misinformation and make informed choices.
He expressed confidence in Joohari's candidacy, citing strategic campaign tactics and community sentiment.
The by-election on Saturday is a straight fight between Joohari and Nibong Tebal PAS vice-chief Abidin Ismail representing Perikatan Nasional (PN).
