SERDANG, July 13 (Bernama) -- The organisation of the three-day Felda Settlers’ Day 2024 (HPF 2024), which ends tomorrow, is seen as a platform for the larger Felda family to strengthen their brotherhood.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said that organising such a large-scale event would also allow Felda (Federal Land Development Authority) folks to take advantage of the opportunities offered throughout the three-day duration of the HPF 2024 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) here.
"I hope the HPF 2024 can give an understanding of brotherhood and friendship among all Felda schemes and plans so that they will get to know each other and events like this can create a feel-good vibe among the larger Felda family.
"Earlier, for example, the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives informed us of the funds that they can obtain and the many opportunities that they might access,” he told the media when met at the HPF 2024 Celebration today.
Also present was Felda chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek and Felda director-general Datuk Amiruddin Abdul Satar.
Fahmi also invited the public to attend the HPF 2024 tomorrow, saying many exciting events have been held over the past two days, including the launch of the Felda Nation Jamboree, the presence of 58,000 motorcycle sports enthusiasts and a table tennis event with over 1,200 participants.
"We can also enjoy food provided at the 300 booths from every Felda scheme and plan nationwide.
"So, to those who have yet to attend, I hope you will take the opportunity tomorrow, which is the last day, to come. Tomorrow night, there will be a concert by Ungu (a band from Indonesia). So, while getting ready to watch the Euro 2024 football final (between Spain and England), we can also enjoy the free concert,” he said.
Fahmi also said that Felda was very close to his heart as he used to watch how his father, who was the Felda director-general in the early 2000s, managed the scheme across the country,
"As a Felda child myself, I am very proud (of the HPF 2024 celebration) and we hope such events can be held in the coming years.
"Looking forward, we certainly want to see second, third and subsequent generations of Felda children all being able to develop their respective Felda areas,” he said.
Earlier, Fahmi, accompanied by Ahmad Shabery, took the time to visit the exhibition space showcasing 27 MasterClasses conducted by various figures and celebrities.
