LARUT, July 14 (Bernama) -- A total of 4,145 Kemas teachers will be sent to attend a course on memorising the Quran beginning this month.
Community Development director-general Datuk Ahmad Kamal Idris Mohd Nawawi said this is in preparation for the Pre-Tahfiz programme involving more than 140,000 Kemas students nationwide.
The course, involving 42 series, is implemented in stages involving about 100 teachers in each series of the course, he said when met by reporters at a durian competition in Batu Kurau here today.
He said the pre-Tahfiz programme would involve fun learning classes for Kemas students.
The Kemas Pre-Tahfiz programme aims to empower Quranic Education in addition to giving added value to the existing module at Kemas kindergartens, he added.
