PETALING JAYA, July 26 (Bernama) -- Lazada Malaysia, one of Southeast Asia’s leading e-commerce platforms, is dedicated to supporting the growth of small businesses through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Zed Li, chief operating officer of Lazada Malaysia, stated that AI tools can enhance the operations of small businesses while also contributing to the platform's focus on sustainable growth.

He emphasised that Lazada is committed to advancing the quality growth of its sellers by providing cutting-edge technologies at no cost, to many sellers beyond Malaysia's borders.

"We have been initiating a lot of new measures as well as AI tools to help improve the quality of the sellers on the platform.

"We have an AI smart listing tool that helps sellers improve the quality of the image and product descriptions on the platform. There are also tools that help them build their sales and incentivise buyers to give good reviews, to help them drive even more sales," he said at a press conference after the opening of the Lazada Seller Summit, here today.

The summit, attended by over 1,000 participants from across Malaysia, was officiated by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo. The event provided Lazada’s sellers with opportunities to engage in a range of programmes, including exhibitions, presentations, and panel discussions.

Li said that Lazada also provides A/B testing that allows small businesses that cannot afford these tools to conduct free testing to help maximise their sales.

"We have the Lazada University where free online and offline courses are provided to our seller, and also a seller community where members help each other grow," he said.

Lazada affirmed its commitment to encouraging mutual growth among businesses, emphasising that the platform is designed to support everyone’s success, even as e-commerce evolves over the next five to ten years.

Meanwhile, Timmy Kok, owner of the clothing brand Adam Zero, shared that through Lazada’s training programmes and community support, he has mastered various aspects of the platform, including ad performance, campaign submissions, and financial analysis.

Kok, who began selling on Lazada in August 2021, expressed his dedication to helping other sellers. He aims to share his knowledge to support their growth and nurture a collaborative and mutually beneficial community on the platform.
