McDonald's Malaysia Wins Community Engagement Award For Sixth Consecutive Year

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- McDonald's Malaysia has been honoured with the Community Engagement and Upliftment Award in the Quick Service Restaurant category at the 9th edition of the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2024.

The award ceremony, officiated by Deputy Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, recognised outstanding Malaysian corporations for their exemplary efforts in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and corporate social responsibility.

"This accolade marks the sixth consecutive year McDonald's Malaysia has received recognition from CSR Awards Malaysia, highlighting its steadfast commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

"The company continues to emphasise its role as a deeply rooted local operation dedicated to serving the Malaysian community," McDonald's Malaysia said in a statement.

It said as McDonald's Malaysia celebrates over 42 years of serving the nation, the company remains committed to its mission of feeding and fostering the community.

Notable initiatives by McDonald's Malaysia include the Anugerah Guru Inspirasi McDonald's, McDonald's Community Month celebrations with orphanages, and various seasonal events and charitable contributions such as Chinese New Year festivities with senior citizens and Misi Moreh Mekdi during Ramadan.

These efforts reflect McDonald's Malaysia's long-standing dedication to community engagement and social responsibility.

McDonald's Malaysia managing director and local operating partner, Datuk Azmir Jaafar, expressed pride in the company's achievements.
