LYON (France), Sept 12 (Bernama) -- The second day of the WorldSkills competition (WSC 2024), continued to witness young Malaysians showing off their quality and skill on the world stage brilliantly.

Bernama's survey found that they expertly performed every task and module set even though the competition area was filled with hundreds of visitors from various segments.

Hundreds of visitors comprising experts, youth and students attended the WSC 2024 held at Eurexpo here to see participants show off their skills in more than 62 skills categories.

At this WSC, visitors were also given the opportunity to try and explore every skill available including Beauty Therapy and Patisserie & Confectionery.

Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad when reviewing the 2024 WSC last night said that the achievements of the country's youth was at the highest level of satisfaction.

“I pray that all 15 young participants can get gold, even though the final decision will depend on the appraiser. (The appraiser assesses) the participants from the time of their arrival until the end work,” he said.

The WSC 2024 held from Sept 10 to 15, brought together 1,400 competitors from more than 70 countries and regions, to compete in 62 skill categories.

Malaysia, taking part in 14 of these categories, including Robotic Systems Integration, Software Completion IT for Business, Heavy Vehicle Technology and Digital Development is targeting at least three medals at the 2024 WSC Games.

Previously, the media reported that the government is providing a special cash incentive of RM40,000 to participants who win gold medals at the WSC in Lyon this month.

The special incentives for participants was a sign of support, encouragement and motivation to pursue success at the WSC 2024.
