SIBU, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Entrepreneurs of Sarawak heritage, cultural and artistic products can apply for easy financing from the state government to fund the organisation of classes or workshops for making these products.
Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan said RM10 million a year has been allocated for the fund which can be applied for by any non-governmental organisation (NGO) which wants to organise such classes and workshops.
“Application forms as well as further information can be obtained through the website https://mtcp.sarawak.gov.my. The amount to be distributed will depend on the number of days and participants, with allocations of RM30,000, RM50,000, RM70,000 and RM100,000," he said.
Snowdan, speaking at the Citra Warisan Mensia: Lenggang Darul Hana event here last night, said this fund was established with the aim of empowering the production of Sarawak's heritage, arts and culture.
“The task of empowering the field of arts and culture in Sarawak is the responsibility of all parties through the organisation of more effective cultural development programmes to ensure arts, culture, and heritage remain relevant and are inherited by future generations," he added.
