KUCHING, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- MyContent Distribution Sdn Bhd won two awards at the Digital Economy Awards 2024, here last night.
The awards are a signature event organised by Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) held in conjunction with the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2024.
MyContent Distribution received the Premier’s Award and the Micro Small Medium Enterprises Award, presented by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
In a statement, SMA said that MyContent Distribution, a fully Sarawakian-owned company founded in 2020, has positioned itself as a pioneer in Malaysia's entertainment industry by embracing digital transformation.
Specialising in the production and distribution of films and TV programmes, the company has distributed over 100 local Malaysian films on international platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and VIU, it said.
“Its notable achievements include launching the first Sarawakian dialect TV series Tilit-tilit Cinta on Netflix and the first Iban film The Headhunter on Amazon Prime.
“The award-winning film Tegkang, a recent production, further demonstrates MyContent's commitment to showcasing Sarawakian stories globally,” it added.
Universiti Malaysia Sarawak won the Research and Development Award while Evolving Brilliance Technologies Sdn Bhd bagged the Technology Start-Up Award.
The Digital Government Award was won by the Sarawak Civil Service Digitalisation Unit, while the Forest Department Sarawak won the Sustainability Award.
The Sarawak Digital Economy Awards aims to recognise organisations that are spearheading Sarawak’s transformation into a leading digital society.
The prestigious award invites participation from the public and private sectors, industries, government-linked companies, institutions of higher learning, non-governmental organisations, and individuals.
