KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- International Testing Agency (ITA) has announced Malaysian squash legend, Datuk Nicol Ann David as their newest education ambassador.
In a X post today, the former World Champion said the role represents a big responsibility to serve as a role model for young athletes in Malaysia and around the world.
She said it also promotes the values of clean sport and the importance of fair play.
“I took pride in the sense that I worked really hard for every single victory I had throughout my career and gave it my best at every point of my life.
“This is thanks to the positive influence of my parents who guided me to treat everyone, including my opponents, with the utmost respect and to be a good person. I hope to be a positive influence for more athletes by advocating for clean sport to current and aspiring athletes of the future,” she said.
The ITA is an international non-profit organisation with a mission to manage anti-doping programmes, independent from sporting or political bodies, for International Federations (IFs), Major Event Organisers (MEOs) and all other organisations that request its support.
