KANGAR, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- The Perlis government is offering attractive investment incentives in its bid to lure local and foreign investors to invest in the state, particularly in the Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA) for the halal industry, automotive, green manufacturing, and renewable energy clusters.

“Other offers include a 100 per cent income tax exemption for up to 15 years, 100 per cent investment tax allowance (ITA) for up to 10 years, and exemption from import duties and stamp duties,” according to a statement from Istana Arau.

The statement said State Economic Planning Division secretary Zuhair Jamaludin presented the information to the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail during an audience granted to the China Entrepreneurs Association on Malaysia (PUCM) at the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

The PUCM delegation was led by its president,  Datuk Keith Li.

Also present were State Secretary Datuk Rahimi Ismail and Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) executive director (Investment Promotion) Faizal Jalaludin.

Meanwhile, the statement also said that during the audience, PUCM highlighted Perlis' great potential due to the presence of natural mineral resources that can be jointly explored with the state government, particularly in the area of high-quality dolomite mining, development of solar farms and logistics sector, given its highly strategic location next to neighbouring Thailand.

“PUCM was also informed of the incentives offered, including leasehold holdings, land premiums, and principal approvals within 30 days for private developments,” it said.

According to the statement, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin also expressed hope that the meeting would yield positive outcomes and encouraged PUCM entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities and potential in Perlis.

The meeting also touched on bilateral relations between Malaysia and China, focusing on prospects for trade cooperation that could strengthen the ties between the two countries, it added.
