Solidarity Gathering In Kota Bharu For Palestine After Friday Prayers

KOTA BHARU, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Malaysians in Kelantan gathered at Dataran Masjid Muhammadi here today after Friday prayers to continue their unwavering solidarity and support for the people of Palestine.

Nazri Deraman, chairman of the Suara Gaza NGO Coalition, said the gathering aimed to reignite solidarity after more than a year of Israel’s aggression against Palestine.

According to him, over 100,000 active coalition members from Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, and other countries continue to advocate for Palestine’s rights, calling for the liberation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and protesting against ongoing atrocities and genocide.

“More than 10 NGOs joined forces for this event, including Pertubuhan R Kelantan (R4RAKYAT), Pertubuhan Cakna Palestin Malaysia (Cakna Palestin), Persatuan Anak-anak Istimewa Kelantan (PAIK), and Pertubuhan Silat Seni Gayong Malaysia, Kelantan branch.

“Also present were representatives from Yayasan Amal Malaysia (Kelantan branch), Ikatan Muslim Professional (Improf), International Relief and Humanitarian Outreach Malaysia (Reach), Pertubuhan Amal Perubatan Ibnu Sina Malaysia (Papisma) Kelantan, and other groups, including members of the Chinese, Indian, and Siamese communities,” he told reporters today.

He added that through the coalition's solidarity efforts since last year, RM2 million had been raised and donated to Palestine, prioritising clean water supply, food, and beverages.

The gathering in Kota Bharu is part of a series, which will continue in five other districts, including Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang.
