SIDEC, PayMate To Empower SMEs With Cash Flow Flexibility, Streamline Supplier Payments

SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) and PayMate have joined forces to empower almost 70,000 of Selangor’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) business owners by providing extra payment options.

PayMate Asia Pacific general manager Amirreza Sawal said the partnership will empower SMEs across Malaysia to make supplier payments using their credit cards, regardless of the supplier's typical acceptance methods. 

He said through the PayMate platform, businesses can also enjoy up to 55 days of interest-free period, giving them greater flexibility in managing their working capital.

“In Malaysia’s B2B (business-to-business) space, many businesses face limitations in utilising credit cards for supplier payments, particularly when suppliers do not traditionally accept card payments directly.

“With PayMate, businesses can simply log into our web platform or app, add their credit card and make payments to any supplier. This flexibility helps SMEs manage cash flow more effectively and keep operations running smoothly,” he told Bernama recently.

Amirreza said the options provided by PayMate could help SMEs to grow by giving them more control over their finances which could help by reducing dependency on cash flow cycles as some businesses may face delays in payments, and limited working capital options. 

He also said the booming e-commerce market has created a strong need for flexible payment options to support cash flow, hence the partnership with SIDEC will strengthen the local ecosystem by giving SMEs in Selangor the flexibility to manage payments and scale their businesses in a fast-paced market.
