KUCHING, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- The Takaful4All Fun Run, organised by the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) in conjunction with the Financial Literacy Carnival at Vivacity Mall, received an encouraging response from Sarawakians.

MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said that besides promoting a healthy lifestyle, the event also aims to introduce takaful to the local community.

“With our tagline Takaful4All, takaful is not just for Muslims but for people of all races and religions, similar to today’s run, which is open to all age groups.

“This run also marks the conclusion of the financial literacy month, usually held from October to November, and coincides with the carnival. We are proud to see the participation from the people of Sarawak – this is one of the best Takaful Runs we have had,” he told Bernama after the event.

Meanwhile, Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN) chief executive officer Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail said statistics showed that 84 per cent of Malaysians are inactive or do not exercise regularly.

“PruBSN is honoured to collaborate with MTA in efforts to raise awareness about takaful while promoting a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a statement, MTA said that various initiatives were undertaken during the three-day Financial Literacy Carnival to promote the importance of takaful, including showcasing affordable products such as Perlindungan Tenang.

MTA also organised community outreach programmes such as the ‘Takaful Masuk Kampung’ at Kampung Samariang Batu, a T’Talk session with the MTA CEO, the launch of MTA+ Kenyalang Chapter, and the ‘Shape Your Future #FitFinances 3.0’ programme in Lundu.

“Through active participation in the Sarawak Financial Literacy Carnival, MTA reaffirms its commitment to spreading financial literacy awareness, promoting takaful as an essential protection tool and fostering a culture of financial responsibility among Malaysians.

“MTA remains steadfast in its mission to bridge the financial literacy gap and empower communities to embrace takaful for a better and more secure future,” the statement added.
