KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- MIZU Paint aims to be a leader in sustainable construction materials that embeds its technology into any sector needed for climate change mitigation strategy.

MIZU Paint founder Rozzeta Dolah Ceng said the Malaysia International Building and Construction Industry Showcase (BuildXpo) 2024 is among the ideal platforms to showcase its innovations and strengthen its brand.

“Trade shows like BuildXpo are crucial to our long-term growth strategy, serving as essential links between MIZU Paint and the broader construction industry.

“BuildXpo provides a ‘bullet’ to speed up the market penetration process by being a direct channel to industry stakeholders, allowing the company to gather real-time feedback, quickly adapt to changing consumer preferences, and refine its products to meet market standards,” she told Bernama.

BuildXpo showcased the latest trends, sustainable practices, and cutting-edge technologies in the construction industry and was held from Oct 22 to Oct 24, 2024.

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Works, organised by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia, and managed by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Qube).

With 500 exhibition booths and 200 exhibitors, BuildXpo attracted participation from countries such as China, Spain, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Bangladesh, and Japan.

It served as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and fostering innovation among industry professionals, with a focus on modernising the construction sector.

The aim is to attract young talent, address workforce challenges, and promote sustainable, green construction practices to meet the evolving demands of the industry.

Rozzeta highlighted that BuildXpo has been instrumental in MIZU Paint’s journey, as when the company participated in the exhibition in 2023, its paint was still in the research and development stage as well as in the process of gathering insights from industry experts and potential customers.

“The feedback helped refine our product, and the connections we made laid the groundwork for our growth.

“Fast forward to 2024, we are thrilled to return with a market-ready product, the world’s first carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorbent paint,” she said.

Rozzeta said the most significant challenge for MIZU Paint was validating their research and development efforts to ensure the product met rigorous industry standards.

“It required extensive testing and refinement to align our paint’s performance with the technical expectations of the market.

“Each step was crucial, as we needed to confirm durability, safety, and sustainability benchmarks before moving to commercialisation,” she said.

She said as the company develops and expands its product range, participating in BuildXpo helps MIZU Paint stay in tune with market needs and emerging trends.

“This enables us to anticipate future demands while reinforcing our commitment to the local industry.

“By driving innovation alongside our peers, we contribute to the sustainable growth of the sector as a whole,” she added.

Most importantly, MIZU Paint’s engagement with the CIDB has been a key driver in our journey from concept to commercialisation.

“CIDB has provided invaluable support in several ways, helping us navigate the complexities of the construction industry and ensuring that MIZU Paint meets the necessary standards for both performance and safety.

“Their support has not only helped reaffirm MIZU Paint’s market readiness but also positioned us as a forward-thinking player in the sustainable construction space. Their continued partnership is pivotal as we scale and expand our reach, locally and internationally,” she added.
