KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The two-year administration of the MADANI government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has achieved notable success in advancing the nation despite facing various domestic and global challenges, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.
He attributed this success to the government’s unwavering dedication to upholding the aspirations of the people by embedding MADANI’s core values – sustainability, prosperity, justice, and humanity – into every policy implemented.
“Malaysia has firmly established itself as a progressive, high-income nation. This demonstrates that the MADANI government not only tackles challenges but also creates opportunities for continuous progress to benefit the people and the nation,” he said when appearing on ‘The Nation’ programme aired by Bernama TV today.
As part of the MADANI administration, Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, expressed gratitude for the strides made in his portfolio. This includes chairing 26 cabinet and high-level committees to drive impactful policies.
He also highlighted achievements under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW), where initiatives have strengthened rural development by improving infrastructure and ensuring fair access to facilities, fostering balanced growth for rural communities.
“The Bumiputera empowerment agenda remains a key focus through programmes that ensure their active participation in the nation’s economic development,” he said.
On education, Ahmad Zahid emphasised the importance of prioritising Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to develop a skilled workforce earning competitive wages.
He said TVET graduates are now highly valued and play a pivotal role in driving the country’s economic growth, particularly with international collaborations enhancing their global employability.
Ahmad Zahid also urged for the continued strengthening of the halal industry, positioning Malaysia as a globally respected halal hub as since the introduction of the halal certification system in 1974, the industry has flourished, creating job opportunities and enhancing Malaysia’s economic competitiveness.
He expressed confidence that the MADANI government will continue to deliver greater achievements with people-centric policies that uphold Malaysia as a progressive, inclusive and MADANI nation.
“With our unwavering commitment to the people and sustainable development, Malaysia will continue to grow and reach new heights. Happy second anniversary to MADANI, and let us work together to shape a brighter future for our beloved nation,” he said.
From tomorrow until Sunday, the ‘Two Years of MADANI Government (2TM)’ programme and the 2024 National Convention on Public Service Reform will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
The event will feature various services from ministries, agencies, and government departments, along with exciting activities for visitors, including entrepreneurial booths and the MADANI Rahmah Sales.
