KUCHING, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- The Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2024 is set to be held on Dec 14 with the Sarawak Government as the platinum sponsor with RM100,000 sponsorship for the Premier Award and Digital Economy category.
Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) president Ronnie Teo Teck Wei said Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), Sarawak Energy and Shell Malaysia remain as KJA’s Gold Sponsors, pledging RM50,000 each to sponsor the Community Well-being Journalism Award, Sustainability Journalism Award, and Business and Economy Reporting Award, respectively.
“This year, KDJA is happy to announce two new Gold Sponsors, namely Press Metal who will sponsor the News Reporting Award category, and Yayasan Peneraju, who will sponsor the Broadcasting Journalism Award category.
“Additional corporate sponsors include Affin Bank, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Energy, Citadel and SOCOE,” he said after the cheque presentation ceremony witnessed by the Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here, today.
Teo said KDJA's recognition and celebration of outstanding journalists were made possible through the invaluable support of all the sponsors.
“Those sponsorships not only honour the journalists’ achievements but also inspire them to continue their pursuit of truth, fairness, and accountability in their reporting,” he said.
