MITRS Online Platform Available From April 2025

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Income Tax Reporting System (MITRS) application, which includes the document submission module under Section 82B of the Income Tax Act (ACP) 1967, will be available for taxpayer access starting April 1, 2025.

The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) announced in a statement today that the Filing Programme for Documents Specified under Section 82B of the Act has been uploaded on the official IRB portal as a reference and guide for taxpayers.

"Taxpayers can also appoint a licensed tax agent under Section 153 of the ACP 1967 for submission through MITRS. The programme, which will take effect from the year of assessment 2025, is for taxpayers in the category of companies and limited liability partnerships," it said.

Taxpayers who have submitted the Income Tax Return Form (BNCP) under Section 77 or 77A of the Act must provide information and submit documents specified by the Director General of Inland Revenue to determine taxable income and the tax payable.

IRB stated that, as a start, the documents under Section 82B that need to be submitted to determine taxable income and the tax payable for the relevant assessment year include audited financial statements or management accounts and complete tax calculations.

For guidance and reference on implementing the programme, taxpayers can access the information through the MyTax portal at https://mytax.hasil.gov.my/ or via quick access on the official HASiL portal > Forms > Filing Programme for Documents Specified Under Section 82B Through MITRS.

MITRS is a platform for submitting tax worksheets online using the XBRL format. The tax worksheets consist of three categories: Work Sheet (HK), Financial Information (HK-FIC), and Financial Information for Sole Proprietorship Business (SPFI).
