KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s first takaful operator, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad (Takaful Malaysia), has contributed RM500,000 to the 2024 Skuad Musa’adah Al-Falah Flood Relief Programme, aimed at assisting flood victims nationwide.

In a statement today, Takaful Malaysia said the donation, channelled through the Musa’adah Fund under the coordination of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim), is part of the company’s Flood Relief Mission initiative to provide immediate aid to communities affected by flooding.

A replica cheque for the contribution was handed over by Takaful Malaysia group chief executive officer Nor Azman Zainal to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

Nor Azman said the financial aid reflects the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and its ongoing commitment to community welfare and development.

“We are dedicated to fostering collective responsibility to support vulnerable groups and building a caring society. This contribution also underscores our support for Jakim’s welfare initiatives through the Musa’adah Fund,” he said.

Nor Azman expressed hope that the financial aid would ease the burden of flood victims and help them rebuild their lives, particularly those most affected by the disaster.

“This assistance can be used for daily financial relief, supporting education, providing healthcare services, and repairing homes. It also extends to supplying assistive devices for individuals with special needs.

“We hope this contribution will alleviate the hardships faced by flood victims and help them recover and rebuild after this devastating event,” he added.

He further highlighted Takaful Malaysia’s commitment to playing an active role in humanitarian and social development efforts through its CSR programmes.

Nor Azman also emphasised the importance of collaboration among government agencies, corporate organisations, and the community in building a resilient society capable of overcoming challenges together.
