PUTRAJAYA, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) and the Turkiye Government are exploring cooperation opportunities to improve the security and safety of energy supply, as well as stimulate economic growth through green investments.
PETRA said in a statement today that the exchange of letters of intent for the collaboration was held yesterday, in conjunction with the official visit of Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
PETRA added that the areas of cooperation outlined included the operation of the electricity market, strengthening and development of the grid system, increasing renewable energy sources, exploring nuclear energy potential as well as investment and financing mechanisms in the energy sector.
This collaboration will be implemented through various platforms, such as seminars, forums, technical discussions, working visits, exchange of expertise and technical knowledge as well as joint implementation of projects in fields related to electricity.
"This strategic collaboration is in line with Malaysia's commitment to achieve a low-carbon and sustainable future as stated in the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).
"Malaysia intends to accelerate the agenda of energy transition by leveraging the expertise of the Republic of Turkiye in the field,” it added.
