MELAKA, Feb 13 (Bernama) — The Melaka state government expressed its condolences and support to the family of five who perished in a fire that engulfed a house in Kampung Berangan Enam, Umbai, Jasin here early this morning.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh in a Facebook post also expressed his deep sorrow over the tragedy that befell the family.
"I am saddened by the disaster that has befallen and pray that the families of the victims will be given fortitude in facing these difficult times. "May Allah SWT shower his mercy on the spirits of all victims and be placed among the believers. Al-Fatihah," he said.
The five who perished in the fire were identified as Laila Fathinah Mustapa, 37, and her four children, Nur Damia Batrisyia Abdullah, 13, Izz Daffa Hafizuddin, 7, Nur Dalilah Khadijah, 6, and Izz Danish Fathi, 4, while her husband Muhammad Khairuddin Sa'ari, 35, survived.
Earlier, Ab Rauf accompanied the Yang Dipertua of Melaka Tun Mohd Ali Rustam to visit Muhammad Khairuddin who is receiving treatment at the Emergency and Trauma Department, Jasin Hospital.
They spent about an hour asking how Muhammad Khairuddin was doing and offering support to the victim who lost his wife and four children in the incident.
