TH, Saudia Airlines Sign Five-Year Agreement To Provide Chartered Flights For Haj Pilgrims

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 Feb (Bernama) -- The Pilgrims’ Fund Board (TH) today signed a five-year agreement with Saudia Airlines (Saudia) to provide specially chartered flights to bring Malaysians to the holy land for the Haj pilgrimage beginning this year until 2029.

TH, in a statement, said that all the special chartered flights will depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.

The first flight is scheduled for April 29, it said.

It said that for the 1446H/2025M Haj season, Saudia Airlines will provide 45 round-trip flights with a passenger capacity of 357 people per aircraft for 50 per cent of the total of 31,600 Malaysian prospective Haj pilgrims.

The agreement signing ceremony was held at Menara TH, Jalan Tun Razak, with TH Haj Department head Mohd Hisham Harun, representing TH,  while Saudia was represented by its Haj and Umrah Revenue Sales Management general manager  Amer G Alghamdi.

It was witnessed by TH Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Syed Hamadah Syed Othman.

Meanwhile, Syed Hamadah said the signing of the agreement further strengthened the cooperation that had been established between TH and Saudia.

 "TH and Saudia Airlines will ensure that the flight schedule is arranged systematically and are committed to continuing to deliver friendly services consistently to provide the best Haj travel experience for Malaysian pilgrims,” he said.

He said TH is confident that Saudia can help the agency provide the best flight services for the comfort and smoothness of the pilgrims' journey.
