KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons (Security and Corrections) Datuk Abdul Aziz Abdul Razak has been appointed as the new Commissioner General of Prisons, effective today.
In a statement today, the Prisons Department said that Abdul Aziz, 58, began his career as a prison officer with the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Prisons in 1990.
Over his 35-year service, Abdul Aziz has held various key positions, including Bentong Prison director, Prison Policy Division director and Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons (Community).
“May his experience, skills and leadership continue to uphold the excellence of the Malaysian Prisons Department in line with the department’s vision and mission, as well as the Malaysia MADANI approach and the Public Service Reform agenda,” the statement read.
Abdul Aziz holds a Bachelor of Science in Resource Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and a Master of Arts from Universiti Malaya (UM).
