CAMBODIA 

 

1. CHALKING NEW PATHWAYS TO MODERNISE ECONOMY -- FRESH NEWS

Australia hosted the “Cambodia’s Diversification Pathways—Insights from International Experience” workshop to explore the Kingdom's growth strategies. Cambodia wants to attract high-quality foreign direct investment, expand industrial capabilities, and effectively integrate into global value chains.

 

2. DEMINING OF UNEXPLODED DEVICES TO RESUME -- THE PHNOM PENH POST

The 210 demining personnel in Cambodia affected by the recent aid suspension by the United States (US) will now continue their work after the US decided to lift the funding ban. The waiver allows the continuation of mine and unexploded ordnance clearance activities.

1.LOCAL LEADERS SKIP PRESIDENTIAL RETREAT AMID MEGAWATI’S BOYCOTT CALL -- JAKARTA GLOBE

Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri has instructed all elected regional leaders from her party to withdraw from President Prabowo Subianto’s retreat, signalling the beginning of the party’s long-anticipated shift to becoming the sole opposition to the government.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing urged the Tatmadaw (armed forces) to collaborate with the people to create a peaceful environment during elections. He said it is vital to ensure the successful conduct of free and fair elections and to protect voters’ rights.
