Perak's Agro MADANI Programme Records RM10.9 Mln In Sales Value - FAMA

IPOH, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) organised 459 Agro MADANI Sales across Perak last year, generating a total sales value of RM10.9 million.

FAMA, in a statement, said the sale programmes were held at various high-density locations, government premises and residential areas, involving 7,373 entrepreneurs and benefiting 240,000 visitors.

Offering discounts of up to 30 per cent on fresh produce and essential household items, the programmes provide significant cost savings for consumers.

“This initiative aims to enhance food accessibility and affordability while ensuring stable prices for consumers,” it said in a statement.

“It also functions as a market price control mechanism during periods of agricultural surplus, supporting economic stability for farmers and local producers.

Meanwhile, FAMA held a sales event at the Perak State Secretariat (SUK) building today, officiated by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

It offers a variety of products, including chicken, fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, controlled goods, and daily necessities, allowing office staff and local residents to purchase essential items at more affordable prices.

“FAMA estimates that sales at the SUK will reach RM60,000, and we plan to organise this programme monthly at the same location,” the statement said.
