Perlis Ramadan Bazaar Traders Comply With Price Regulations, Offer Reasonable Prices

KANGAR, March 6 (Bernama) -- Ramadan bazaar traders in Perlis have shown encouraging compliance with price tag regulations while offering food at reasonable prices, according to ongoing inspections by the authorities.

State Agriculture, Plantation and Consumer Committee chairman Razali Saad said surprise inspections conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Perlis found that traders were displaying price tags clearly as required.

“It is crucial for Ramadan bazaar traders to adhere to the set regulations. We hope all traders will continue to comply and offer fair prices to consumers.

"Our inspections are not intended to intimidate traders, but rather to remind them of their responsibility to ensure transparency and fairness in pricing," he told reporters after conducting a price survey at the Kangar Ramadan Bazaar yesterday evening.

On the supply and pricing of coconut milk-based foods, Razali said there have been no significant price increases detected so far, with coconut milk supply in Perlis remaining stable. This is due to consistent supplies from outside the state provided by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) Perlis.

"At the Kangar Ramadan Bazaar, we found that food prices are reasonable and not excessive. Many dishes were sold out early, indicating that the prices offered meet customer demand," he said.
