KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 (Bernama) -- AEON Bank (M) Berhad is embracing the spirit of Ramadan by promoting thoughtful giving, purposeful spending and financial inclusion through a series of initiatives under the theme “Niat di Hati, Semua Jadi”.

The bank’s efforts include financial education programmes, community outreach and digital banking rewards, aimed to empower Malaysians to make mindful financial decisions while fostering a culture of giving during Ramadan and Syawal.

On March 3, AEON Bank hosted its inaugural Shariah Live! dialogue panel at the International Islamic University Malaysia, attended by over 800 students and university officials.

The session, moderated by Aniq Muhai, featured prominent figures in Islamic finance, including  AEON Bank Shariah Committee chairman Ustaz Wan Rumaizi Wan Husin and AEON Bank chief shariah officer Ustaz Ibrahim Mohd Hasan.

“The panel discussion centered on the fundamentals of Shariah-compliant digital banking and its potential to positively impact communities.

“AEON Bank’s aim is to engage the youth, prepare them as future leaders and increase awareness and understanding of digital banking solutions that align with Islamic principles,” said the bank in a statement today.

In the meantime, AEON Bank has launched the Salam Prihatin initiative in collaboration with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Masyarakat Penyayang Lembah Pantai (PERKEMP) and AEON Co to support the B40 community.

Tomorrow, over 400 families in Perumahan Pantai Permai, Kuala Lumpur, will receive RM300 each for grocery shopping at AEON Mall Taman Maluri, empowering them to buy essentials based on their needs.

AEON Bank employees will volunteer to guide the families through the shopping process, ensuring that the allocations are used effectively.

“From March 1 to April 6, AEON Bank is running a special Salam Ramadan campaign to encourage customers to maximise their savings and earn extra rewards. By using their AEON Bank Debit Card-i at participating AEON outlets, customers can earn 10X AEON Points, which can be redeemed for cash via the AEON Bank app.

“Customers are also encouraged to create multiple Savings Pots within the app, enabling them to earn a competitive 3.00 per cent annual profit rate,” the statement read.

AEON Bank is also making Shariah-compliant digital banking more accessible through the Neko Cruiser, a roving O2O (Online-to-Offline) interactive hub that will visit several Ramadan bazaars to assist the public in transitioning to cashless transactions and exploring digital banking solutions.

The Neko Cruiser will be at Bazar Ramadan Kampung Melayu Majidee, Johor Bahru from March 13 to 15, Bazar Ramadan Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur from March 20 to 22 and Bazar Ramadan Mahkota Square, Kuantan from March 25 to 27.

Visitors can also redeem AEON Bank merchandise by downloading the AEON Bank app, opening a Savings Account-i and participating in O2O activities.

To further support Malaysians during Ramadan and Syawal, AEON Bank has launched Personal Financing-i (PF-i), a collateral-free, Shariah-compliant financing solution ranging from RM1,000 to RM10,000.

The first 500 eligible customers will receive AEON Points worth up to RM50 upon successful disbursement.
