Sabah Ready To Move Forward With SMJ 2.0 In 2026, Says Hajiji

KOTA KINABALU, Dec 31 (Bernama) -- The year 2026 marks a new chapter for Sabah to continue moving forward with strong determination and a spirit of togetherness, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said. 

He said the state government is fully prepared to implement the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development plan, which is holistic, inclusive and comprehensive, to ensure sustained prosperity and a brighter, more competitive future for the state.

“Looking back at 2025, it was a good year, built on a solid foundation of development and steady progress through the implementation of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 1.0 development roadmap.

“The state government is continuing this trajectory through SMJ 2.0 by strengthening our commitment to unity, prosperity and inclusive development, so that the progress achieved can be enjoyed fairly by all Sabahans,” he said in his New Year message here today.

The Chief Minister also expressed his appreciation to the people of Sabah for the renewed mandate to continue leading the state, describing the trust and support as a great responsibility that will be carried out with full accountability and commitment.

“With this renewed mandate, the state government remains committed to strengthening governance, ensuring continued political stability and driving comprehensive development for the well-being of the people,” he said.

Hajiji said sustained efforts over the past five years to create stability and a conducive environment have produced tangible results and delivered benefits to the state.

He also expressed his hope that all Sabahans will be blessed with good health, well-being and success, and together with members of the state Cabinet, extended New Year greetings to all.
