KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 (Bernama) -- Berjaya Assets Bhd has appointed Tan Tee Ming, 49, the son-in-law of its major shareholder Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, as its new chief executive officer, effective Jan 1, 2026.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, it said Tee Ming, who holds an indirect interest of 1.09 million ordinary shares in Berjaya Assets, is also a brother-in-law of the company’s executive director, Chryseis Tan Sheik Ling.
Berjaya Assets said Tee Ming holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from King’s College London and has held various positions in several private banks in Malaysia and Singapore, with over 16 years of experience in managing the wealth of high-net-worth individuals.
It said Tee Ming was appointed senior general manager of Berjaya Land Bhd’s property sales and marketing division on March 18, 2017, and was subsequently appointed executive director of Berjaya Land on April 1, 2022. He resigned as executive director of Berjaya Land on Dec 31, 2025.
At 5 pm, Berjaya Assets closed unchanged at 30 sen, with 161,500 shares traded and a market capitalisation of RM767.48 million.
Meanwhile, in a separate Bursa Malaysia filing, Berjaya Corporation Bhd said its executive director, Norlela Baharudin, 62, resigned today to pursue her personal interests.
