KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) were forced to concede defeat at home after being stunned 2-0 by Penang FC in a Super League match at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA), Kuala Nerus, tonight.
In the first half, the home side tested the visitors’ goal early on, but Danilo Sipovac’s header went narrowly over the crossbar.
Tchetche Kipre emerged as the hero for the visitors, opening the scoring for the Panthers in the 69th minute before doubling the lead in the 89th minute to seal a 2-0 victory.
After 13 matches, TFC remain fifth with 18 points, while Penang climbed one rung to 10th place with 11 points.
Meanwhile, in another match, DPMM FC defeated bottom-placed PDRM FC 3-1 in their clash at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.
Muhammad Hakeme Yazid Said emerged as the home side’s hero with two goals in the 46th and 89th minutes, while the other goal was contributed by Jordan Murray in the 63rd minute.
PDRM FC’s consolation goal was scored by Fakhrul Azim in the 85th minute.
DPMM collected 17 points to be in seventh place, while PDRM, who have recorded nine defeats in addition to just one win and three draws, remain rooted to the bottom with six points.
