KOTA BHARU, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on the road after the Titiwangsa Range towards Jeli, Kelantan, earlier today.
Jeli Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Azhar Elmi Mustofar said the station received an emergency call at 12.01 pm and sent a team to the scene, 48 kilometres away.
“On arrival at 12.52 pm, the operations commander conducted an initial assessment and confirmed the collision involving two vehicles and four victims.
“One victim was found pinned in the driver’s seat and was extricated by the fire department. Three other injured victims had been helped out of their vehicles by members of the public before our arrival,” he said when contacted today.
He said that the victims included a 43-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman in the Toyota Vios, and a 28-year-old man and an unidentified individual in the Toyota Hilux.
Azhar Elmi also said all victims were sent to Gerik Hospital for further treatment using BBP Jeli and BBP Gerik Emergency Medical Service vehicles.
“The operation concluded at 1.48 pm and involved 17 personnel from the Jeli BBP and Gerik BBP, along with six members of the Malaysian Armed Forces,” he added.
