ISTANBUL, Jan 18 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Syria said on Sunday that it will resume flights at Aleppo International Airport from Tuesday, Anadolu Ajansi reported.

“We are pleased to announce the resumption of air traffic at Aleppo International Airport starting Tuesday, Jan 20, 2026, in accordance with the approved flight schedule,” Omar Hosari, head of Syria’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, said on X.

He added that the next phase will see a “continued focus on the airport”, noting that authorities will work to develop its services and improve the overall travel experience.

The move comes as part of efforts to restore normal air traffic to the city following military escalation with the YPG/SDF group.
