Hajiji Calls On Sabah Students To Stay Informed About State Government Initiatives

IPOH, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has called on students from Sabah, especially those studying abroad, to stay informed about the state government’s initiatives and programmes. 

He emphasised that students should seek information firsthand and not be influenced by inaccurate reports or rumours circulating outside Sabah.

“Don’t be swayed by stories from outside, when in fact the government is working diligently on programmes for our people. 

“Many of you here come from rural areas such as Keningau, as well as Tawau, Sandakan, and other parts of Sabah.

“Make sure you get accurate and reliable information about the programmes and development initiatives being carried out,” said Hajiji in a statement issued by the Sabah Chief Minister’s Office.

The statement was issued at the launch of the 2026 Rindu Sabah Graduate Assistance / Sabah Student Flight Subsidy (GRS SubFly) programme at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris in Tanjong Malim yesterday.

The initiative will directly benefit 2,772 Sabah students currently studying at the university. 

He also urged Sabah graduates, whether from local or overseas institutions, to return and serve the state.

He concluded by highlighting the state government’s ongoing efforts to resolve key issues such as water supply, roads and electricity, expected within the next one to two years, and efforts to increase state revenue to support education and public welfare programmes.
