Saudi Requires Advance Dam Payment For Tamattuk, Qiran Haj - TH

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- The Saudi Arabian government has set a new requirement mandating all prospective pilgrims performing the Tamattuk and Qiran Haj to make an advance dam (sacrificial penalty) payment to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Project for Utilisation of Hady & Adahi (ADAHI) as a prerequisite for haj visa issuance beginning the 1447H/2026M season.

The Pilgrims’ Fund Board (TH), in a statement today, said it will facilitate the payment to ADAHI on behalf of Malaysian pilgrims at a rate of RM810 per kibas (sheep) for the season.

TH said the payment must be made according to the type of Haj performed and can be settled via the THiJARI application or at TH branch counters nationwide starting Ramadan 1.

“For pilgrims who do not make the advance payment, effective 1 Syawal, TH will freeze the required amount in their accounts before proceeding with the debit,” the statement said.

All pilgrims performing Tamattuk and Qiran are required to settle the payment before arriving in the Holy Land. For those undertaking Ifrad Haj, any amount debited will be refunded upon certification, subject to TH verification.

Meanwhile, TH Group managing director and chief executive officer Tuan Haji Mustakim Mohamad said the implementation through ADAHI is a new condition imposed on Tamattuk and Qiran pilgrims worldwide this season.

“TH has taken the initiative to inform Malaysian pilgrims earlier to help ensure a smooth visa issuance process,” he said.

TH also announced that participation in Qurban in the Holy Land this year is open to all its depositors at RM810 per kibas, with payment available via THiJARI or at its branch counters nationwide.

The public is advised to be wary of suspicious dam and Qurban payment offers from travel agencies or other parties, as authorisation from the Saudi authorities is required for such arrangements.
