FAMA Ramadan Bazaars In Perlis Record RM1.3 Mln In Sales

KANGAR, March 10 (Bernama) -- The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) in Perlis has recorded RM1.3 million in sales at two Ramadan bazaar locations in the state so far, involving 109 local entrepreneurs.

Perlis FAMA director Mohd Anzara Azizan said the bazaars, held at the Simpang Empat Permanent Farmers’ Market and Dataran ABC MAIPs, provide entrepreneurs with a platform to generate income while offering the public easy access to breaking-of-fast delicacies.

He said this after officiating the Sentuhan Kasih Ramadan @ Bazar Ramadan Tani FAMA 1447H/2026 programme at Dataran ABC MAIPs here today.

Mohd Anzara said the Sentuhan Kasih Ramadan programme, held at both locations yesterday and today, collected nearly 500 kilograms of food from traders to be distributed to mosque congregants in nearby areas.

“The programme aims to encourage entrepreneurs at FAMA-managed Ramadan bazaars to share their blessings with the community, particularly mosque congregants and the needy, during Ramadan,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said FAMA Perlis has also organised several special sales programmes across the state to help the public obtain Ramadan essentials.

These include the Jualan Semarak Ramadan at Istiqamah Mosque, Teluk Jambu Farmers’ Market, which recorded RM43,600 in sales, as well as the Jualan Agro MADANI Ramadan at Sekolah Kebangsaan Dato Ahmad Musa, Simpang Empat, and the Perlis Civil Defence Force (APM) office compound, which generated RM22,085.

He added that pre-Ramadan sales via the AgroBazaar Online platform recorded RM13,400, bringing total sales for these programmes to RM79,085.

Mohd Anzara said FAMA Perlis will continue organising several programmes ahead of Aidilfitri, including the Jualan Khas Semarak Aidilfitri at the Simpang Empat Permanent Farmers’ Market on March 17 and the Jualan Agro MADANI at the Perlis Commercial Centre and the FAMA Perlis office on March 19.
