Sabah Flood: Number Of Evacuees Rises To 300 This Morning

KOTA KINABALU, March 12 (Bernama) -- The number of flood evacuees in Sabah has increased slightly to 300 from 93 families as of 8 am today, to 270 from 82 families, yesterday.

The State Disaster Management Committee secretariat, in a statement, said that 30 villages in Paitan were affected, with five relief centres having been activated, namely at the Batagon Darat Community Centre, PCS Purubatu Church Hall, Surau Nur Hikmah in Kampung Kaindangan, SK Lubang Buaya and the district hall.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of thunderstorms in several remote areas in the state today.
