1,098 NADI Centres Activated Nationwide For Aidilfitri, Targets 10,000 Community Entrepreneurs - MCMC

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) -- The 2026 NADI Raya Bazaar was activated simultaneously today at 1,098 National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI) nationwide, involving up to 10,000 community entrepreneurs ahead of the Aidilfitri celebration.

In a statement today, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) said the initiative, implemented under the NADI Smart Service, aims to empower local entrepreneurs and expand opportunities for them to market their products during the festive season.

According to the commission, participation by entrepreneurs this year has doubled compared to more than 5,000 entrepreneurs who took part in the programme in 2025.

“The NADI 2026 Bazaar, as a continuation of the 2025 edition, is not merely a seasonal sales platform. It is part of MCMC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the community’s digital economic ecosystem, bridge the digital divide and enhance the people’s socio-economic competitiveness in line with the objectives of establishing NADI,” the statement said.

In the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency, the programme was officiated by its Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and held simultaneously with the Safe Internet Campaign.

In her speech, Wan Azizah said the programme provides an opportunity for the local community to introduce a variety of products such as food, clothing, Raya cookies and handicrafts that showcase creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

“Community bazaars like this not only boost the local economy, but also provide opportunities for the community to venture into small-scale entrepreneurship,” she said.

She also expressed hope that the initiative would continue to serve as a platform to empower communities while increasing awareness of safe internet use and enlivening the festive atmosphere ahead of Aidilfitri.

Also present was MCMC chairman Mohamad Salim Fateh Din.

Apart from Kuala Lumpur, this year’s programme also focused on several locations, including NADI Sungai Tua in Selangor, NADI Kampung Dato' Ahmad Said Tambahan 2 in Perak, Kulai in Johor and NADI Kubang Semang in Penang.
