PUTRAJAYA, March 16 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched the Mushaf Malaysia MADANI at the Nasyrul Quran Integrated Printing Complex as part of efforts to strengthen the Quran Tadabbur (reflection) programmes at the national level.
The Mushaf Malaysia MADANI is among the country’s earliest hybrid Quran manuscripts, combining traditional Islamic calligraphy and local artistic elements with digital innovation to enable a more interactive engagement with the holy text in line with current technological developments.
Each copy is embedded with a quick response (QR) code that allows readers to access digital resources, including translations in multiple languages, tajwid guidance and explanations linking Quranic verses with elements of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The manuscript also features audio recitations by internationally recognised Egyptian qiraat expert Ahmad Isa al-Ma’sarawi.
The preparation of the Mushaf Malaysia MADANI took nearly five years and was led by calligrapher Abdul Baki Abu Bakar of Yayasan Restu, who has more than three decades of experience in the field.
At the same event, Anwar also launched a container full of endowed copies of the Quran with translations in several languages for Muslim communities overseas, under the One Million Quran Waqf Project.
Among the translations available are Spanish, as well as English and French editions intended for Muslim communities in Canada and the United States.
The project reflects Malaysia’s commitment to expanding the global distribution of the Quran while promoting understanding of Islamic values among international communities.
Also present at the launch were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and chairman of Yayasan Restu cum chief executive officer of Nasyrul Quran, Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Mirasa.
