KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 (Bernama) -- Three of five unlicensed photographers suspected to be involved in an attack on two individuals at Persiaran Menara Berkembar Petronas (KLCC) on March 22 will be charged tomorrow.
Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Sazalee Adam said the three will be charged under Regulation 25(1)(n) of the National Registration Regulations 1990 for not possessing identification documents as Malaysian citizens, adding that two other suspects in the attack have been charged today under Section 149 and 324 of the Penal Code.
The five photographers were arrested around KLCC along Jalan Ampang on March 22 to facilitate investigations into the attack.
The attack was believed to have been triggered when the victim saw and approached a group of men beating an Indian tourist.
When the victim tried to confront the men and disperse them, they were attacked suddenly from behind with an individual using a kerambit knife.
