IPOH, April 4 (Bernama) -- The Perak edition of the MADANI Rakyat programme (PMR) 2026 recorded over 93,000 visitors as of its second day, nearly surpassing its original three-day target, said Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming.

Nga said the achievement proved the people's confidence in and support for the programme, which has been organised for the past two years.

“I am pleased to announce that the PMR programme targeted 100,000 visitors over three days. However, we have already successfully recorded more than 93,000 visitors by the second day.

“This programme is not just an event. It is a manifestation of the government’s determination to listen to the people's voices, understand the pulse of the community, and translate their needs into tangible actions,” he said.

He said this in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Perak PMR 2026 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah here today.

The programme's opening was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

Nga said the programme provided the public with an opportunity to interact directly with various government departments and agencies, while obtaining practical and comprehensive information and assistance.

He also expressed his appreciation to the Perak state government, ministries, departments, and agencies involved for their strong cooperation in ensuring the PMR successfully benefited the people.

“The synergy established between all parties reflects a shared commitment to ensuring the development agenda and government services are delivered comprehensively to the grassroots,” he said.

The PMR 2026 continues this year with Perak as its first location, running from April 3 to 5, offering more than 200 government services and various activities.
